The Development of the Müller-BBM Group


1946

Lothar Cremer is granted a licence to open up a business as Consulting Engineer for Acoustic Technology in Munich.

1954

Lothar Cremer becomes Director of the Institute for Technical Acoustics at Berlin University; the »Laboratory for Acoustic Technology of Prof. Dr. Cremer« is taken over by his student Helmut A. Müller.

1958

Helmut A. Müller continues to run the Munich office – now, however, under his own name. To the original business area of building acoustics the new areas of industrial soundproofing, noise control in urban planning, and noise control in shipbuilding are added. The firm gradually acquires a reputation extending beyond Germany.

1962

Founding of the »Müller-BBN GmbH« with five partners. The firm »Bolt Beranek Newman Inc.« becomes a partner.

1972

»Bolt Beranek Newman Inc.« sells its shares in the company. The company name is changed to »Müller-BBM«.
The company buys into the »M+P Raadgevende ingenieurs bv« in the Netherlands.

1991

Founding of the BBM Technik GmbH.

1996

M+P Raadgevende ingenieurs bv becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Müller-BBM VuB.

1997

In order to keep up with the rapid growth in the area of measurement software, the »Müller-BBM VibroAkustik Systeme GmbH« is founded.

2000

Takeover of the GERB Akustik Consult GmbH, which is now renamed to BBM GERB Akustik GmbH.

2005

Fusion of the BBM Technik GmbH with the BBM GERB Akustik GmbH to form the »BBM Akustik Technologie GmbH«.

2008

Founding of the »Müller-BBM Scandinavia AB«, based in Gothenburg/Sweden.

2009

Founding of the »Müller-BBM Active Sound Technology GmbH«
